YOUR PRIVACY

Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 5, 2026

1. About this policy

This policy covers askdeveloper.com, operated by Mohamed Elsherif for AskDeveloper Podcast and The Weekend Podcast. You can browse, search and listen without creating a visitor account. Links to other websites and podcast platforms are governed by those services’ own privacy policies.

2. Information processed when you visit

Delivering pages, images and media involves technical information such as your IP address, browser/device details, requested URL, time of access and referrer. Our hosting and delivery providers, including Sites and Cloudflare, may process request and error logs to operate the site, troubleshoot problems and protect against abuse. Search terms are sent to our server to find results; they can also appear in URLs, browser history, caches and provider logs. Avoid entering sensitive personal information in search.

3. Google Analytics

Public pages load Google Analytics to help us understand visits and improve the site. It can use cookies and browser identifiers and collect page URLs, referrers, interactions, device/browser information and approximate location. Search terms in page URLs may be included. The site does not deliberately send visitor names or email addresses to Analytics. Our Analytics script is excluded from owner admin pages. Analytics currently loads automatically on public pages; there is no on-site analytics consent selector. Google’s processing and available controls are explained in the links below.

4. Cookies and saved preferences

The ad-language cookie remembers English or Arabic for up to one year after it is set. We also store ad-language and ad-theme in your browser’s local storage; they remain until cleared by you or your browser. Theme can follow your device or use your chosen light/dark setting. Google Analytics may set its own cookies. Hosting or owner sign-in services may also use cookies for security and authentication. Clearing site data removes saved preferences but does not erase data already received by service providers.

5. Videos, audio, images and external links

YouTube videos use the youtube-nocookie.com embed and load the player when you choose to play a video or chapter. This reduces early player loading but does not make playback anonymous. Episode thumbnails may load from YouTube before playback. SoundCloud audio is requested when used, and other externally hosted images may load as you browse. Those providers receive technical request information and may apply their own storage or tracking practices. Subscribe and social links take you to services such as YouTube, SoundCloud, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, X and Facebook. The native share button passes the episode link and title to the sharing option you choose.

6. Podcast content and AI-assisted editing

Episode descriptions, chapters, notes, guest biographies and photos are published content. The owner can use AI services to help prepare episode descriptions and chapters from transcripts and episode information. Ordinary visitor searches use the site’s catalog search, not an AI chat service. If a profile or episode includes personal information about you that needs correction or removal, contact Mohamed using the routes below.

7. Storage, service providers and retention

Information is processed by the services needed to host, secure, measure and deliver this site and its media. Their systems may be located outside your country. Public podcast content remains available until edited or removed. Browser preference lifetimes are described above; analytics and hosting-log retention depend on provider settings and policies. We do not state a fixed retention period for those provider records here. We use access controls and other safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

8. Your choices and privacy questions

You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser, use browser tracking controls, or use Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on where supported. Private browsing alone does not prevent providers from receiving requests. You can avoid playing embedded media and review each provider’s privacy settings. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, or object to certain processing. Contact Mohamed to ask about this site or request a correction; avoid posting sensitive information in public comments. This page will be updated when the described practices change.
