Ahmed Hosny is a Dublin-based technology executive and product leader with more than 20 years of experience spanning financial technology, payments, software engineering, and digital banking. He is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Finerty, where he leads product and technology strategy for an AI-powered Open Finance platform that brings together financial data across banking, pensions, investments, and insurance. His work combines secure, consent-driven data access with AI-powered document processing and automation to support financial advisers and institutions. Before founding Finerty, Ahmed served as Lead Architect for Bank of Ireland’s new banking app, leading architectural work on cloud migration, modern banking services, and data and AI capabilities. He previously spent nearly 13 years at Mastercard, progressing from software engineering into director-level roles across enterprise security, developer platforms, and Open Banking. His work included fraud-prevention products, spending alerts and controls, open APIs, and account-based payment experiences, alongside contributions to multiple patents relating to payments and financial technology. Ahmed began his career in Egypt, developing mobile applications, Arabic-language support for mobile devices, telecommunications systems, and engineering simulation software before moving to Ireland. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Cairo University, a master’s degree in Computer Science from University College Dublin, an MBA from Technological University Dublin, and a master’s degree in FinTech Innovation Business from Munster Technological University. His experience bridges hands-on engineering, product innovation, technical architecture, and business strategy.
